Help us raise money for development of a clinical research database, that would standardize AHC terms and classify AHC symptoms with an end goal of designing outcome measures for use in clinical trials.

The Online Auction will open on April 27, 2013 at 12:01PDT and close May 18, 2013 at 6:00pm PDT.

We ask that you send an email to everyone you know, – family, friends, co-workers and encourage them to send to their circle of friends. Each person must register and create a login. Anyone can bid on items.

We will be accepting new items until May 12th if you would like to donate an auction item.

Have you been wondering how you can get involved with Fundraising?? Here is a simple, easy and FREE idea that EVERYONE can do. Thred Up is an online consignment shop. It’s very simple!!

2. Order a bag (which is free) that will be mailed directly to your house,

3. Fill the bag with gently used children’s clothing (over 12+months) or women’s clothing!

4. Set out the pre-paid bag for your mailman, or drop off at any UPS store to be shipped free of charge.

All proceeds will benefit the AHCF! Please forward this to ALL of your friends, family, co-workers, church groups, etc to let them know how they can help!

Walk Warriors for AHCF!

Are you looking for ways to help organize a walk or run to benefit the AHCF? Are you concerned about the time commitment for taking on such an endeavor? Are you uncertain how you would even begin? Or, maybe you are considering hosting an event and would like to just learn more before you decide. In either case, do we have good news for you! The AHCF is putting together a support group called the Walk Warriors. The focus of the group will be to provide you with instruction and advice on how to host a walk, and or, run. Along the way you will receive detailed instructions, sample documents, assistance with contacting the media, direction on how to handle the finances, and much, much more.

The Walk Warriors will be led by Vicky Platt. Vicky currently serves on the AHCF Board of Directors and is the Foundation Secretary. Along with her husband Andy, and fellow Illinois AHC parents, Gene and Kelly Andrasco, they have teamed together for eight years and hosted a walk outside of Chicago. With the support of their family and friends they raise approximately $30,000 a year. Learn from their success and have an amazing experience along the way.

To join the Walk Warriors simply send your contact information to Vicky Platt (Vicky@ahckids.org) or give her a call (847-337-9044). Upon joining the group, you’ll receive a document on how to get started. The group will hold conference calls throughout the year and chat on a variety of topics via email. Walk Warriors will become a support group within the foundation where you can share concerns and exchange ideas

Two Hearts Rock™ is seeking your support for a local awareness Benefit on Friday, January 25, 2013, in honor of Kiley Andrasco 11 from Lake Zurich

. There will be a public screening of a newly-released medical documentary “Here. Us. Now.” a film by Emmy award-winning director Rudy Poe, which chronicles a family with twin daughters diagnosed with a rare genetic, fatal disease, and their courageous battle to find medical breakthroughs.

Following the screening, all guests will enjoy Live Music by the local group, “Out of Storage”. This event will be held at Hawthorn Woods Country Club in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are available for purchase online.
