2014 AHCF Family Meeting – Minneapolis Minnesota!

ahcf-conference-2012-109The Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood Foundation Family Meeting will be held at the Hilton, Minneapolis/St Paul Airport, Mall of America www.mspairport.hilton.com  The meeting will take place June 26th – 28th.

This year for the first time, the AHCF is asking for a “recommended donation” or registration fee to attend the conference. It will help offset the increased cost associated with putting on the event, including the cost of speakers, conference materials, audiovisual and more.

There will be over 21 experts coming to the meeting to share their insights on AHC and it also includes a group luncheon and ice cream social.

Kathy SwobodaDr Swoboda and the Pediatric Motor Disorders Research Clinic team will be conducting AHC clinical appointments Tuesday June 24th, Wednesday the 25th and the morning of Thursday the 26th.  Accompanied by her expert medical team this includes DNA collection and inclusion in the AHCF Clinical Registry, Genetics Counseling, History and Physical or update of previous H & P, Physical Therapy Assessment, Physiatry appointment including Quality of Life Scales, Neuro Psyche Evaluation and a Private Session devoted to a patient question and answer period with one of the AHC experts on the team. There is no cost to the families for this.

  • 1 mile from the Mall of America http://www.mallofamerica.com/ with complimentary shuttle service from the Hotel.  MOA has a bowling alley, movie theatre, Nickelodeon Amusement park, Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland, Comedy Clubs and of course, Shopping!  Restaurants ranging from fast food, family-type restaurants and fine dining are located there. A bonus for all shoppers, there is no sales tax on clothes in Minnesota!
